I think the only lucrative business these days which is available online is forex trading, those who knew the art of making money through trading are earning a good sum of money from it.

That's wrong. Not just foreign exchange but there are some other high risk high gain business even forex is more riskier. Stock for example that is high risk and high gain. Talking about ponzi scheme, it is illegal at first and will always be but ethical that is depend on the way they invest that pool money.

Ponzi scheme is illegal because that is factually illegal, you are using the money of others to create a cycle without produce the real product, and the only way for this kind of way to earn money is by having more and more people to join and make sure that all of them keep making deposit, this is not healthy man.

To the state it is illegal but that is just in nearly all countries, in fact ponzi schemes or HYIP which included inside still quite popular to some people and many people still invest there for the sake of getting profits from it. Also money games could be included as ponzi schemes too which people still attracted into.

Because the admin of this kind of program usually promised higher return and many people in developing countries want to earn more money to rise from the lower status to the higher one. Also in most of developing countries the rules somewhat relaxed than those in developed countries so this kind of program still exist without any problem.

Fraud within the market was rife, with many binary options providers using the names of famous and respectable people without their knowledge. According to a national fraud and cybercrime reporting centre Action Fraud, 664 binary options frauds were reported in 2015/16, increasing to 1,474 in 2016/17. The City of London police in May 2017 said that reported losses for the previous financial year were 13m, increased from 2m the year before.

Quite an amazing name and popularity has been gained by theses pinzi schemes and scammers . These scams are undoubtedly illegal but still exist in many parts of our world.
